A landmark year for us at Hull Adventure has reached another peak after we won gold for the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year Award at the Land Leisure & Tourism (LLT) Show 2024.
We were announced as the winner at the annual awards at Birmingham’s NEC in November 2024.
The LLT Awards acknowledge those who have made exceptional contributions to the industry by implementing innovative practices, ground-breaking new products and providing sustainable opportunities.
We were recognised for our diversification and accessibility which has come with our rebrand earlier this year.
The judges noted how our staff overcame challenges and interacted with customers, as well as verifying online ratings and testimonials and reviewing video evidence.
Our work with Hull City Council’s Healthy Holidays programme was also lauded.
John Haines, our manager at Hull Adventure Centre said: “This is fantastic recognition for the hard work and dedication for our team.
“We have reformed and transitioned from being Hull Karting to the new Hull Adventure Centre and it’s always nice when others notice the efforts that we have put in.
“All LLT members are welcome to put themselves forward, but it’s a bit of a hit and hope really.
“When we were told we’d won gold, I thought there’d be about 10 gold winners, but there isn’t, we were the only one. It was a bit of a shock to me, to be honest.”
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration and housing at the council, said: “Hull Adventure Centre is a popular and well-run facility by John and his time.
“It now provides a host of activities for everyone and it’s great to see that it is now receiving richly deserved accolades.
